Digitization and modernization of the "Am Nähkasten" parking lot
This is an inner-city parking garage in the town of Bocholt on the border with the Netherlands. The originally gated parking garage has a total of 214 parking spaces. The parking garage is currently being renovated and refurbished under the management of PRM.
For various reasons, it was decided to comprehensively refurbish and modernize this long-standing parking lot. Professional planning and the preparation of an expert opinion are intended, among other things, to optimize the use of the parking spaces.
The parking spaces in the parking garage are spread over a total of 10 levels, including 2 basement levels. The barrier is currently out of service due to the renovation work, which means that manual checks by the parking management team are necessary. A combined system with barrier and license plate recognition will be installed during the renovation work.
At present, short-term parkers take a ticket from the machine, which is visibly displayed in the car. Long-term parkers alternatively display their long-term parking card. While long-term parkers can drive in and out 24 hours a day, short-term parkers must adhere to the opening hours.
The goals of the refurbishment
The parking garage will be completely renovated on all levels, including the installation of a new electrical system. A combined system of license plate recognition and barriers will make parking easier and more convenient. At the same time, modern lighting and a new wall design will create a bright, friendly appearance. A specially developed color concept will be implemented for this purpose: Each floor will have its own color so that parkers can find their car more quickly.
At the same time, the parking garage will be barrier-free, for which the existing elevator will also be incorporated into the concept.
In future, the available parking space will be divided between
- approx. 120 long-term parkers
- 141 Short-term parkers
- 6 disabled parking spaces
- 14 women's parking spaces (with emergency stop and camera surveillance)
In addition, 4 parking spaces with charging facilities for electric cars will be installed on the 2nd level.
Parking space management after the renovation
Even after the current renovation and conversion work, PRM will take over the parking management in this parking garage.
PRM is therefore the point of contact for the contractually registered long-term parkers. PRM also takes over the maintenance and servicing of the parking garage and the installed infrastructure after the refurbishment. This includes:
- Cleaning and winter service
- Maintenance and of elevator, fire extinguishers, CO² warning system and electrical systems
The inspection and possible repair of the charging stations for electric vehicles is carried out by specialized partner companies.
PRM will ensure efficient operation with optimal parking space utilization in the "Am Nähkasten" multi-storey parking lot in Bocholt through the conversion and refurbishment measures as well as a tailor-made parking management system.
